high tea at hilton kl-food food and more FOOD!!

My blog has been collecting dust and cobwebs. So it’s a good time to update it now.

A lot of things has happen since my last entry in middle February. Like starting medical school (going to be semester 2 students in September), going through orientation, studying like mad (sigh~) and well I will only write about recent events now.

Yesterday my parents took me for hi-tea at KL Hilton as a treat for my 19th birthday. The food there was fantastic. It was not like any other hi-tea as the portions were really small and dainty (but I think that is a good idea because people will be less likely to waste and you can try everything without feeling overstuffed!!). The one thing I was so fascinated with was the huge chocolate fountain, with a lot of fruits like strawberries, honeydew, melon, dragon fruit, kiwi, and marshmallows, small brownies, donut holes to be coated with CHOCOLATE from the chocolate fountain. Seems like a fairy tale. Can’t blame me, I’m a chocoholic.

And there were other yummy finger food like mini shepherds pie, mini sausages in puff pastry, mini vegetable pizza, fried prawn and scallop wonton, mini lobster quiche, unagi with teriyaki sauce, mini brioche with wild mushrooms, scones with whipped cream and raspberry jam, mini cinnamon carrot cake, and chocolate cake(sort of with warm chocolate filling, sandwiches with egg mayo, chicken ham, tuna, bread with some funny exotic topping like alfalfa and cheese, prawn with some sauce and I did not dare to try some food that look, well scary. There was this raw tuna and smoked duck. And the best part DESERTS!!!! There were seven types of deserts and of course I sampled everything. There was crème Brule (sinfully rich. don’t want to think of all the calories I consumed!!), mango pudding (had a fancy name that I can’t recall), chocolate mousse with berries, mocha cheesecake, meringue with strawberries, brownie with chocolate fudge, and some berry pudding with biscuit.

oh, the best part (there seem to be too many “best parts”) was the crêpe with banana filling, lots of almonds, black cherry, orange, chocolate and cream sauce. Oh my, my mouth is watering just thinking about it even though I won’t be going for another hi-tea for a year or so. The tea they served us was really good; I guess it must be some fruit infusion or something. Too bad there wasn’t any refill. And it’s a real pity that I didn’t have a camera with me. The food presentation was really good. The ambience was relaxing and there was even a live performer strumming the guitar and singing oldies which are kind of familiar to me. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely go back there again =)

I am getting lazy now and I’m itching to work on my cross stitch; I’m currently doing a fairy and I doubt I will be able to finish it before the new semester starts. Oh well. I’ll take my time. My next post will be on my trip to Taman Negara (as my elective) it will help me do my report (yuck)..Sort of anyway..

Tata for now!!
